| Vampires are slightly paler than Humans, and are roughly equal height with Humans, although some could be taller than the average Human. Though Vampires can consume blood to nourish themselves, they have grown to not always require blood as their only nourishment. While they still must drink blood every so often, they usually consume animal blood. Other than blood, the Vampire's diet consists of everything a Human can live off of. Water and food are still key components to staying alive. Essentially, Vampires are Humans who drink blood, are slightly paler, and live longer. Obviously, Vampires can not feed off of other Vampires for blood, but a Vampire can change a Human into a Vampire by letting them drink their blood. However, there are some magical properties to Vampire blood. They first rule for Turning someone is that they must be willing, not forced. Also, Turning someone can not save their life. The reason someone must be willing to be Turned s because the Vampire blood is typically not compatible with the Human blood, making it difficult on the body to accept the new infusion of blood. The Vampire blood effectively becomes a virus, taking over the host and changing them. This takes a toll on the Human, and can ultimately kill them. After one is successfully Turned, the Vampire who Turned the new Vampire must stay with them until they are in full control of their new body. A new Vampire, whether born naturally or Turned, must be able to drink blood sooner than other Vampires until they gain control of themselves enough to keep themselves from feeding on blood. Vampires can breed naturally like any Human can. The pregnancy time is roughly the same amount of time. A Vampire child grow like any Human until about age five, where their aging is reduced in speed. This reduction will gradually increase until age 60 give or take 10 years, which would be equivalent to roughly 17 or 18 for a Human in terms of maturity. From this point, the Vampire's aging process slows again to a near crawl. The average Vampire Lifespan is roughly 600 years, but some have been know through history to live well past 1000. | |
